"My goal is to turn this event into a reality competition series that military veterans can be part of and enjoy for years to come. This would be great for Netflix, Hulu, or Prime," says Hill. In addition to educating military veterans in financial literacy, the event also celebrates and appreciates the accomplishments of active duty and military veterans from all branches of service. Anyone looking to promote their favorite nonprofit may become a local title-holder and a representative of the MMMO in their local city. Some people call the event a pageant for nonprofits that features military veterans. That is because military veterans can't participate without a nonprofit organization to promote. Calvin Hill the event's creator says, "Unlike other events our focus is not on beauty - but the community. It is my job to get our military veterans to understand that, especially the men who may feel they are too macho to compete in a competition for a Mr. Military title."This event changes lives and impacts communities not only locally but nationwide as well. Hill says, "Many of the contestants have told me that participating in the event has increased the confidence within themselves and that they would participate again. "The event showcases veterans who promote their favorite nonprofit on social media to help them receive new donations, new members and extra exposure for their causes. "When we make our nonprofits stong, then the individuals and families that rely on those nonprofits will be even - stronger." says Hill. To stress it's importance, this category is where the bulk of the scoring is placed.

Founder of the Mr. & Ms. Military Organization, Calvin Hill, expressed his motivation behind creating this unique pageant, stating, "Most times, our service members are honored and recognized on a military base outside of public view. “We had some amazing contestants this year, but in the end, the judges were blown away by Claude’s vocal performance and his thoughtful answers, so we are honored he will serve as the king for MMMO. Riley struck the judges with her poise and confidence. Watching her bobsledding video performance sealed it for the judges that she would make the perfect queen in our pageant. I am confident both of these dedicated service members will represent MMMO well,” said Calvin Hill, founder of MMMO. The Mr. & Ms. Military Pageant was created by Hill, a U.S. Navy veteran and longtime advocate for service members who wanted to highlight the achievements of fellow veterans and their contributions to local communities. The MMMO pageant was created in 2009 by the organization’s founder Calvin Hill, a veteran with 20 years of experience who served on active duty at the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, California. Hill is also currently a Community Care Coordinator with the San Diego VA Healthcare System. Hill is a staunch advocate for veterans and has a deep appreciation for the U.S. armed services. He designed the pageant to give more visibility to the service men and women who deserve recognition for their efforts on and off base. “Most times, our service members are honored and recognized on a military base outside of public view. I wanted to change that by giving veterans and active-duty service members the spotlight they deserve with an extraordinary platform worthy of our service men and women — an opportunity they can be proud of for years to come,” said Hill.
